How are fares calculated?

The trip fare you see at the end of a ride is calculated by adding: - base fare: the price for pickup - time: from start to end of trip - distance: miles or kilometers of route - surge pricing (if applicable) - tolls (if applicable)This amount is charged to the rider.

Your payment for the trip is calculated as: ((base fare + time rate + distance rate) * surge multiplier)) - Uber fee + tolls .

Time and distance rates will differ depending on the vehicle option that you drive (uberX, UberBLACK) and the city you’re driving in.

A day behind the wheel

When you’re ready to drive, just open the app and trip requests will start coming in. We’ll show you who you’re picking up and provide directions to their location and destination. Once the trip is complete, we’ll find another nearby request. Riders are friendly and respectful of your car. And only you decide when to stop driving for the day.
